Dr. Jawwad Agha takes charge as Member Customs Operations

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Jawwad Owais Agha a Pakistan Customs Service officer of BS-21 has taken charge as Member Customs Operations, Federal Board of Revenue.

The board has already split the function of member customs and created two different slots for customs policy and operations as part of reforms.

Dr. Jawwad Owais Agha is given charge of Member Customs Operations while Muhammad Javed Ghani, a BS-21 officer, is posted as Member (Customs Policy), FBR.

According to details, Jawwad Owais Agha was performing his duties as Chief Collector Customs North Region from December 2017 when he was transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs (North), Islamabad from the post of Director General, Directorate General of Input Output Coefficient Organization, Karachi. As Chief Collector North, he work very hard and introduced several reforms to introduce revenue of the department.

According to recent notification no: 2048-c-1/2018, dated 7.11.2018, Jawwad Owais Agha has been transferred as Member Customs Operations where he will also look after the charge of Member Legal and Accounting-Customs at FBR House in addition to his own duties with immediate effect and until further orders.

The notification also said that Muhammad Javed Ghani, BS-21, transferred from Director General, Directorate General of Transit Trade Karachi to Member Customs (Policy). Suraiya Ahmed Butt is given the role of director general of transit trade, Karachi, in addition to her posting as DG Customs Valuation, Karachi.

Wasif Ali Memon, Pakistan Customs Service BS-21, has been transferred from DG Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit Islamabad to Chief Collector of Customs North Islamabad. He will also look after the charge of Director General DG Audit Islamabad in addition to his own duties with immediate effect and until further orders.
