Dr Kaukab Farooq takes charge as special assistant to DG Customs I&I

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Dr Kaukab Farooq assumed the charge of his new responsibilities as special assistant to Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigations. Additional Director Headquarters Customs Intelligence and Investigation Abdul Waheed Marwat issued a notification in this regard.

Prior to her new assignment, she was performing her duties as deputy director Customs Adjudication. Now she will perform her responsibilities in Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations. Dr Kaukab Farooq possess vast experience in dealing different organizations and departments around the globe such as World Customs Organization, intelligence agencies laison, inter agency task force, Anti Narcotics Force of the various countries.

Sources told Customs Today that while performing her present assignment she will also look after confidential reports and will submit her recommendations to Federal Board of Revenue. Sources said that these authorities were assigned to her after receiving instructions from Director General Intelligence and Investigations Shaukat Ali.

Sources further said that new appointed Director General Shaukat Ali also directed relevant officials to expedite their efforts for conclude the cases which are pending in courts from a marginable time.

Sources said that Director General Shaukat Ali were in dire need of a assistant who can handle daily official work because he always prefer to conclude work on priority basis. Sources said that after issuance of notification she will assume the charge of her new responsibilities.
