The Ahmedabad-based company had allegedly evaded duty on products such as Nitro FX 56 MI, Sunrise- 30 and Sunset (Omega) Fatty acid capsules by misclassifying them. These products being food supplement attract higher duties. According to sources, the company had grossly undervalued the products to lower the customs duty payable on them.

Sources said the company had imported the products by air through Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi, and through courier cells in Mumbai and Delhi. The goods brought in through air cargo had been cleared either by wrongly declaring the cclassification of the goods or by declaring lower values. The goods that came through the courier cells had been declared as samples and then sold commercially later on. Further investigation is underway.
