HARRISBURG: Undercover agents purchased and seized heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana and prescription pills in Harrisburg, leading to more than 60 arrests in a month-long investigation by local law-enforcement.
The Mobile Street Crimes Unit and Harrisburg police recently wrapped up a 30-day drug investigation, according to a Wednesday news release from Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
Sixty-three people “were charged with a variety of drug-related crimes, but the AG’s Office declined to provide the names and specific charges filed against each person arrested “because the investigation remains ongoing.”
The office, however, selected what they called “notable arrests” and released details, including:
• A 48-year-old male accused of selling 15 bags of heroin in the area of 16th and Market streets was arrested and taken into police custody. A search warrant was obtained, which resulted in the discovery of 741 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $2,374 in cash from a city residence.
• A 17-year-old male allegedly sold 10 bags of heroin to an undercover agent near the 2300 block of North 6th Street. When police attempted to arrest him, the male ran. After a brief chase, the juvenile was located hiding behind several houses. He was taken into custody and a loaded firearm was discovered in his possession. The firearm had been reported stolen.
• An undercover agent reported that he purchased 50 bags of heroin in the 400 block of South 14th Street from a 28-year-old male. After the drug purchase, police immediately arrested the male and a second individual without incident.
• A 21-year-old female who allegedly sold 10 bags of heroin in the area of 13th Street and Cloverly Road was taken into custody by police. Investigators later recovered an additional 50 bags of heroin from a vehicle used in the drug delivery and 64 bags of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from a residence. Six additional individuals were also taken into police custody in connection with the particular arrest.”
Police also confiscated three guns, including one that was reportedly stolen, and 12 vehicles used in area drug deliveries, according to the release.
