KARACHI: The Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) reminded the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman about his decision regarding the establishment of dry port in Hub, regretting that no headway could be made so far in this regard.

According LCCI President Yakoob H Karim, the FBR chairman had taken a decision to this effect earlier this year but no further progress could be so far.

He pointed out that early completion of dry port at Hub would go a long way in facilitating trade activities upon completion of Pak-China Economic Corridor.

He claimed that the establishment of dry port would curb smuggling in Balochistan and also help boost revenue collection.

Karim said the FBR chairman had also agreed that revenue collected from businesses located in Lasbela district would be accounted as revenue generated in Balochistan but this could not be implemented so far.
