DUBAI: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) said that company’s revenue has exceeded Dh12 billion in 2014, recording rise in growth 13 percent per year.

The company said its net profit after royalty grew only 6 per cent to Dh2.11 billion in 2014 due to an increase in royalty, the second biggest telecom operator in the UAE said in a posting on Dubai bourse’s website.

The company’s fixed line revenue grew to Dh2.25 billion, up 31.3 per cent over the previous year, while mobile data revenues, which represent 29.7 per cent of mobile service revenues, increased 18 per cent on year, to Dh2.79 billion.

The revenue growth is one of the highest in the Mena region and this was driven by an increase in data revenues, Osman Sultan, du’s Chief Executive, said in a conference call.

In the quarter to December 2014, the company said its net profit after royalty decreased to Dh512.7 million from Dh570.3 million registered in the same quarter last year. The drop in du’s fourth quarter profit was due to a specific favourable year to date adjustment of Dh124 million in royalties in the fourth quarter of 2013 following a confirmation of methodology from the government.
