The two sides said they discussed ways for further coordination in customs operations as a way to see more growth and prosperity in their mutual trade.

The Chinese Consul General Li Lingbing praised the role played by DC in pushing bilateral trade by putting in place top customs services and facilitations for Chinese traders and investors. She also stressed the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and coordination for stronger economic relations between China and the UAE.

Dubai takes on a vibrant role to keep the Chinese commodities flowing to the world,” said Ahmed Mahboob. “Dubai has become a major platform for networking the Chinese market with European and African markets.”

He said Dubai Customs’ endeavours to develop economic and trade ties with China were in fulfilment of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to work towards boosting trade with Asia and underpinning Dubai’s regional and global foothold on the trade landscape.
