Dubai Customs celebrates International Day of Happiness

DUBAI: Dubai Customs took part in the UAE’s celebrations of the International Day of Happiness which takes place on 20th March every year. Dubai Customs organized its event under the theme “We Draw Happiness” which meant to make 2017 a happier year that is full of giving and positive attitude. On the occasion, Dubai Customs surprised its employees with gifts, and the Communication Department organized an awareness lecture on how best to raise a child and follow up their development. The event also saw a number of Dubai Customs’ employees take part in the “Happiness Journey” event organized last Saturday.

Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation pointed out that the UAE has outstripped the whole world by adopting happiness and positivity as a corporate commitment and an attitude. It’s the leadership’s wise directives that help the UAE community to adopt happiness and positivity as a work plan and a goal. Last Saturday, these attitudes were reaffirmed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai during his visit to the “Happiness Journey” event which was kicked off at the Dubai Water Canal. His Highness said the UAE is sustaining and encouraging happiness as a very important human value, he explained.

On his part, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs said the UAE, and since its foundation, paid much attention to social stability and happy life for all of UAE’s locals and residents alike. This was translated into the UAE moving to the top of international happiness indexes, thanks to its forward thinking leadership vision, Dubai Customs excelled on happiness indexes in Dubai. It came first in 2016 on Happiness Meter at 94.9% thanks to its coherent work system and the great efforts of its happy employees, Musabih added.
