“The courses planned for this year were designed to keep pace with the changes taking place in the world of customs globally and to accommodate the current needs of the workforce. New courses were introduced as well to support the nationwide drive towards spreading creativity and innovation and making the public happy,” said Al Falasi.

According to Dr. Shaikha Al Ghafri, Acting Director of the Customs Training Center, the center for the first time offers specialized security programs, advanced customs courses executed jointly with strategic partners, and strategic programs on happiness, innovation and reading. These are delivered to customs employees alongside the usual customs training courses. “We identified and analysed the training needs throughout the year and used the outcomes to devise a more focused training plan for 2016. We are definitely seeing more engagement from employees,” noted Al Ghafri.
