DUBAI: Dubai Customs kicked off Year of Zayed 2018 with the launch of a new humanitarian initiative that aims to support minors. The initiative, which was launched on Tuesday by signing an agreement with the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, seeks to support and guide minors in their academic and career future based on the foundations laid by Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, it was announced.
Ahmad Mahboob Mosabah, director of Dubai Customs, said: “We chose the very first working day in 2018 to launch this initiative to emphasise the importance of giving as an inherent Emirati value. Qualifying and enabling minors is a strategic priority within our plans following the directives of our wise leadership.”
Dr Shaikha Al Ghafiri, director of Dubai Customs’ Training Centre, pointed out the Dubai Customs HR evaluation centre assessed the minors and, based on that, held individual feedback sessions for each of them to help them pursue their future in a better way.
Ahmad Hassan Nasser, director of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, expressed pride and happiness on behalf of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation for actively involving in these initiatives.
“We are proud to have signed this agreement with Dubai Customs on the first working day of Year of Zayed in support of the UAE’s efforts to preserve Shaikh Zayed’s legacy of giving and selflessness.”
