Dubai Customs wins Asia Best CSR Award 2016

DUBAI: Dubai Customs has been declared winner of Asia Best CSR Practices Award for the year 2016. This prestigious trophy recognizes DC’s adopted CSR strategy as the best in Asia, owing to the many initiatives and projects executed by Dubai Customs team as per studied plans and mechanisms to enhance sustainable corporate social responsibility.

The vision behind this award is to acknowledge and share global best practices in terms of strategies, policies, practices and implementation of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, received the award team headed by Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, director of Corporate Communications Department, who presented him with the award plaque.

Musabih expressed his pleasure and stated that the award has added immensely to Dubai Customs’ wall of distinguished trophies, which have upheld its image globally. “Dubai Customs is always keen on serving an effective role in the community while maintaining sustainability in all our business and activities”, he said.

Dubai Customs was awarded this recognition in a ceremony organized recently by The CMO Asia in Singapore. Key jury members of this award are from World Brand Congress, World CSR Day, CMO Asia and NuGrid Consulting.

Khalil Saqer bin Gharib said: “This award crowns Dubai Customs’ countless achievements in social responsibility, as we seek to incorporate comprehensive development programs and community care in our core objectives to create a real added value for the good of our society. CSR is and has always been a key part of Dubai Customs strategic orientation to improve its corporate performance and competitiveness among other government entities and promote commitment before all its stakeholders to providing a working environment that contributes to Dubai’s economic growth.”

The Asia Best CSR Practices Award represents Asia’s highest recognition of corporate organizations that have a positive and significant impact on the lives of people around them. Among the key participating countries are Australia, China, India, Korea, Malaysia, Oman, Philippines, Thailand and UAE.

Over the first half of 2016, Dubai Customs carried out around 133 internal and external CSR initiatives in various areas, with 370 beneficiaries from different segments of society.
