DUBLIN: Revenue officers seized €250,000 worth of cocaine in three sweet containers at Dublin Airport on Sunday night.
The discovery of 3.8kg of the drug was made in the luggage of a 39-year-old Portuguese woman who was travelling to the capital from Dubai.
She was arrested and is being detained by Gardai.
A Revenue spokesman said: “Revenue officers seized 3.8kg cocaine last night at Dublin Airport.
“A 39 year old Portuguese woman arrived in Dublin from Dubai.
“When she was stopped and questioned, following routine profiling by Revenue officers, she was found to be carrying the cocaine in three confectionery tins.
“The woman was arrested and detained by Gardaí. Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.”
