LAHORE: Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has admitted a petition filed by a citizen Junaid Saleem against exemption of duty on Indian made jewellery.
In his petition, Junaid Saleem said that India has not been granted exemptions on any item imported by Pakistan. But the FBR has announced to exempt duty on jewellery imports from India. He further pleaded that this measure will put a negative impact on local jewellery industry. The petitioner also enclosed a notification issued by FBR to exempt duty on Indian made jewellery.
