Dy Superintendent Abid punished for inefficiency, misconduct

ISLAMABAD: Malik Abid Hussain, Deputy Superintendent (BS-16), Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad, has been punished for inefficiency and misconduct.

As per details, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the officer under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 for various acts of omission and commission on his part. Abdul Waheed Marwat, Additional Collector (BS-19), MCC, Islamabad was appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct probe into the matter.

According to the inquiry report, the charges levelled against the accused officer stand established and was issued show-cause notice. He was also given personal hearing by the authorised officer.

After considering the charges framed in the charge sheet, inquiry report, show-cause notice, his defence reply and verbal submissions during the personal hearing, the Chief (Mgt. Customs)/Authorised Officer concluded that the charges of “inefficiency” and “misconduct” were proved against him and imposed the minor penalty of “withholding of increment for two years without cumulative effect” upon Malik Abid Hussain under Rule 4(1)(a)(ii) of the Govt Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.

His performance allowance will also be stopped for six months from the date of award of penalty as provided in Para 7(ii) of the Performance Allowance Guidelines, 2015 and he will have to appear afresh for restoration of the same.
