LONDON: PC and console versions have been annual staples for many a gamer, Electronic Arts (EA) hasn’t forgotten about smartphone and tablet owners. The latest in its attempt at small screen dominance sees EA Sports FIFA hitting Android and iOS devices on September 22. The date coincides with the American release of the game on PC and consoles.

EA Sports FIFA for smartphones and tablets – which will be free to download and play – features console-like graphics, enhanced AI, and all the bells and whistles you’ve come to expect from the franchise with a yearly release in order to keep things relevant. The mobile version of the game also finally gets player goal celebrations, and new control options for smoother gameplay.

But what’s most telling is the ability for gamers to exchange players. It’s a new feature that lets you get the players you want. Rather than sell or discard unwanted players, you can exchange them for random new ones. The better the player exchanged the higher chance of getting a better rated one in return.

Also the game’s popular Ultimate Team mode has undergone a few important changes, the most crucial of which ensures that you won’t have to start over with your Ultimate Team from scratch. With regular updates and events, you can keep your existing players and keep playing.

While all these changes sound good on paper we’re curious to see how they’re received by the game’s rabid fan base when it hits on September 22.
