LONDON: And this year mankind could be totally obliterated by a giant asteroid. It’ll probably rain too.
Conspiracy theorists are predicting the end of time between September 22 and 28.
The intense biblical types believe the event will spark a rapture with Hell on Earth.
But thankfully, science bods have reassured us that the event is highly unlikely.
A spokesperson for NASA said: ‘NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small.
‘In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years.’
It’s worth noting that the majority of large objects that come crashing down to Earth’s atmosphere usually burn up on entry.
