LONDON: Eastland Port handled more than 200,000 tonnes of logs in May and the June bookings indicate a similar throughput of export cargo this month. Eleven log ships called to load logs at the Gisborne port last month. “It was a good month for us,” said port services manager Deane Craw.
“The 205,962 tonnes throughput of logs was above budget and would have been even better if there had not been a one-day delay due to a crane failure on the last ship of the month. “This month also looks very promising. We already have bookings for 209,000 tonnes of logs.”
