ECC greenlights Rs60.7m for aviation employee expenses

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened to approve several technical supplementary grants for various Ministries and Divisions across Pakistan.

In an important move, the ECC sanctioned a grant of Rs60.7 million for the Ministry of Aviation, earmarked specifically for employee-related expenses, as disclosed by the Ministry of Finance.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Communications received approval for a grant exceeding Rs10 million, designated for ad hoc relief allowance.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense was granted Rs 803 million for the National Aerospace Science Technology Park project, aimed at advancing aerospace technology within the country.

Highlighting the ECC’s focus on financial management, over Rs 8.62 billion was allocated to the Military Accountant General and AGPR (Accountant General Pakistan Revenue). These funds are primarily allocated for pension payments, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting retired personnel.

Additionally, the ECC approved a substantial grant of Rs 12.1 billion for the Finance Division. This allocation will cover outstanding dues owed to the Sindh province, including district taxes, ensuring financial stability and operational continuity.
