As per the decision, the finance ministry will now deal with matters only related to revenue and finance.

The move comes after PM Imran, in a major cabinet reshuffle, had named Khusro Bakhtiar as the economic affairs minister.

Hammad Azhar was relieved of the portfolio of economic affairs and was named the minister of industries.

The reshuffle had come on back of an inquiry report on sugar and wheat crisis, which accuaed PTI stalwart Jahangir Khan Tareen, Khusro Bakhtiyar’s brother and PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi of alleged involvement in the scam.
