Economic Corridor to benefit all provinces: Interior Minister

PESHAWAR: Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Friday said Federal Government would take all provinces on board with regard to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

He said that CPECP was a very important project for Pakistan that would largely benefit people of all the provinces including Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Asked about KP government concerns over load-shedding in KP, the Interior Minister said energy shortfall was the problem of the entire country and the government has launched work on scores of energy projects to address this issue on permanent basis.    He referred to the mega energy projects, signed between Pakistan and China during the recent landmark visit of the Chinese President and said after completion these would make the country’s self-sufficient in energy sector.

To a question about KP government demands of the return of Frontier Constabulary’s platoons, the Interior Minister said about 80 percent of the FC platoons are discharging services in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Federal Government was spending Rs. 7 billion to Rs. 8 billion budget annually to fulfill their needs and requirements.
