Economic corridor to enhance business activities in all provinces

ISLAMABAD: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will help boost economic activities in the country as roads, railways and infrastructure will be developed in all the provinces though this comprehensive project.

Senator Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum, talking to media, said that a special attraction of the project is the establishment of economic zones along the route of this corridor, which will increase the business and trade opportunities. He said that the government is giving special focus on economic development of the country and CPEC is part of its vision to take the country forward.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Chairman SM Muneer also said that Chinese President visited Pakistan and signed on various projects and MoUs which is a manifestation of deep bonds of friendship between the two countries. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is taking keen interest in developing the economy and he has been inviting foreign investors to invest in various sectors of Pakistan. He said during the tenure of present government, a number of agreements have been signed to increase the production of energy in the country, which upon completion will bring an economic revolution in Pakistan.

Economist Dr Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said CPEC is a gigantic project and upon its completion it will greatly benefit the two countries. This project will change the fate of Pakistan. He said economic zones will be set up along the route of this corridor and infrastructure will be developed. It will also enhance the trade activities.
