ECP asks FBR to finalise scrutiny of candidates on priority basis

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in order to timely finalise the scrutiny of candidates.

According to official sources of Federal Board of Revenue, the Board has also been asked to assign the task to a focal person. The FBR will notify a focal person in this regard to deal and coordinate with Election Commission of Pakistan for the scrutiny of candidates who are taking part in the upcoming general election 2019, sources added.

Sources also said that in the upcoming meeting with Election Commission of Pakistan and the FBR officials, the timely finalization of scrutiny of candidates and the assignment of focal person of the Federal Board of Revenue will be on agenda to discuss.

Sources further noted that Election Commission called the FBR to acquire and discuss the asset, tax details and other properties details of the candidates who are taking part in the upcoming general election 2019.
