Govt asked to reduce tax on imports of soyabean

LAHORE: Pakistan Edible Oil Refineries Association Chairman Rasheed Jan Muhammad has appealed to the government to decrease tax percentage on imports of soybean. He said that due to high taxes the imports are badly affected.

Rasheed Jan Muhammad added that in year 2015 the import of soyabean was increased up to 19.56 percent. He added that due to concession in  taxes, a huge quantity of soyabean was imported during the previous year.

He added that Pakistan has become fourth big importer of soyabean in the world that 90 percent depends on the imports to fulfill its needs.
