Egypt exports hit £290m in 4 months to Britain

CAIRO: The value of Egypt’s exports to Britain in the first four months of the current year stood at £290 million, the same figure reported in the same period of 2014.

During the January-April period, Egypt’s imports from Britain declined by nine per cent to £289m, compared with £317m last year.

Britain’s exports to countries in the Middle East and North Africa during the four-month period rose by six per cent to stand at £6.561bn, compared with £6.179bn for the same period in 2014.

Egypt ranked seventh among the top exporting countries to Britain in MENA, where it was ranked after Qatar, with its exports to Britain amounting to £884m, Algeria – £755m, Saudi Arabia – £700m, the UAE –£680m and Kuwait at £331m.

Egypt ranked fifth in the list of importing countries from Britain in MENA, after the UAE with £2.44bn, Saudi Arabia – £2.28bn and Qatar at £2.16bn.
