ISLAMABAD: Elderly people will get some relief soon, as the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has introduced ATM cards for the pensioners.
The system would get started from August 1 at all the branches of Bank Alfalah, a private news channel reported. Sources said the registered male pensioners for EOBI are 389,000, while the total number of women has been recorded at 184,000. However, only 8,000 people have got registered under the scheme so far.
The authorities said that the retired people have to get their money of June from the old process, while they would use the new ATM card system from July. Efforts are also being made for the computerisation of EOBI record to enhance its performance.
