HONG KONG: Underlining its commitment to the UAE’s vision of ‘Green Economy for Sustainable Development’, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) took part in the Earth Hour 2015 celebration.
During Earth Hour, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on Saturday March 28, all non-essential lighting and electric appliances were turned off at its headquarters as well as at select sites and plants to conserve power.
ENOC has been partnering in the UAE’s sustainable energy initiatives highlighted most recently by the introduction of eco-friendly green diesel blended to Euro 5 standards. ENOC is also supporting the nation’s green vision by popularising Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a more cost-competitive and cleaner source of automotive fuel.
One of ENOC’s pioneering sustainability initiatives was the opening of the first green service station in the Middle East in Dubai.
