KARACHI: The associations of Pakistan Customs employees, including examiners and appraisers associations, have decided to meet Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) Nasir Masroor Ahmed to inform him about the problems being faced by the appraisers and examiners of the Pakistan Customs, it is learnt here.
Sources informed Customs Today that the office-bearers of both the employees’ associations, including General Secretary Appraisers Association Shafiullah Awan, General Secretary Examiners Association Anwar Zaib, President Appraisers Association Raja Wasim, President Examiners’ Association Chaudhry Asghar and others have recently held a meeting at the Custom House in which they decided to raise the issues pertaining to the termination, suspension and inclusion of examiners names in FIR/challan registered by the authorities concerned of Directorate General of Customs Intelligence & Investigation-FBR.
The sources further revealed that the employees’ associations have decided to finalise a delegation to meet Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) Nasir Masroor Ahmed for the redressal of their problems.
They further revealed that the delegation of appraisers and examining officers’ associations may comprise of Shafiullah Awan, Raja Wasim, Chaudhry Asghar and Anwar Zaib.
Replying to a query, the sources informed that the delegation will meet with the Chief Collector of Customs in next week.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in recent days has terminated and suspended almost 10 of the Customs officials including appraisers and examiners from the different Collectorates of field formations including MCC-Appraisement (East), MCC-Appraisement (West), MCC-Preventive and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim in the pretext of their alleged involvement in unlawful activities.
The sources were of the view that the aim objective of the meeting with Chief Collector-Customs is to forward the grievances and plights of the appraisers and examiners to the authorities concerned of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)
