ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has lauded Engro fertilizer’s performance and its contribution in boosting the country’s agri-sector, which he said was the most important sector of the economy.
The minister said this during the meeting with a delegation of the Engro fertilizers. The delegation felicitated the Finance Minister on the agreement reached with traders associations/ members of the business community, amicably resolving the issue regarding withholding tax on banking transactions. The delegation also apprised the Minister about Engro’s production plan and its contribution to the national exchequer.
The Minister said that government had a resolve to promote tax culture in the country and desired all sectors to play their due role towards achieving this objective. Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance attended the meeting.
