Enrolment to be enhanced from 100,000 to 200,000: Tevta to introduce technical programmes for needy students

LAHORE: Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Chairman Irfan Qaisar Sheikh has said that the authority is trying to increase workforce in the country and will enhance the enrolment from 100,000 students to 200,000 during the current year.

Irfan Qaiser, addressing at the annual general meeting and prize distribution ceremony of Defence Welfare Society at Defence Club Community Centre, said that Tevta to increase enrolment by initiating different technical training programmes to needy students, which will also relax financial burden for government.

Representatives of Defence Welfare Society DHA Haji Inam Elahi Asrar, Hakim Muhammad Usman, SM Ashfaq, Begum Taseneem Firdous, Mehboob Iqbal Tata, Abdur Raoof Shahzada, Ibrar Ahmed and other executive committee members and TEVTA officers were also attended at the ceremony.

Irfran Qaiser Shaikh while addressing the ceremony congratulated the pass-outs of Technical & Vocational Training Center of Defence Welfare Society (DWS). He welcomed the management of the Defence Welfare Society to mutually collaborate with TEVTA in providing certified training.

MoU was also signed by both organisations at this occasion to establish a relationship for collaboration based on the principle of cooperation for supporting the development of skilled human resource in general for poverty alleviation at this center.

The Tevta Chairperson further said that the courses offered at Technical & Vocational Training Center working under Defence Welfare Society (DWS) will be examined and certified by TEVTA. This effort will increase the chances of employment of pass-outs of this center in public & private sectors.
