ISLAMABAD: Recently, the Economic Policy and Business Development (EPBD) Think Tank officially launched the ‘Pakistan Economic Dashboard’. This public digital platform brings more than 75 years of official economic and social statistics together into a single free hub.

Previously, public agencies dispersed Pakistan’s economic data across various statements, releases, and reports. Now, this new initiative addresses that longstanding problem directly.

Pakistan Economic Dashboard: A Complete & Reliable Data Hub

The platform covers ten major subject areas. These include GDP and real growth, policy rates, balance of payments, power-sector losses, energy, prices, debt, trade, and household living standards. Additionally, the dashboard features a dedicated Pakistan Scorecard. This scorecard highlights national rankings on governance, alongside key economic and social indicators.

Moreover, EPBD prioritizes strict data integrity. The think tank completely avoided estimating, modeling, or arbitrarily filling in any figures. Instead, they sourced every single figure exclusively from official national sources. Furthermore, the developers deliberately avoided chaining data series across changes in base years or definitions. Consequently, the dashboard clearly identifies changes in methodologies, benchmarks, and indices. This approach facilitates highly meaningful comparisons of historical data. The dashboard also publishes all underlying data and clearly documents the decisions involved in compiling the historical series.

Fast, Secure, & Free Access

EPBD offers the Pakistan Economic Dashboard completely free of charge. Users do not need a subscription or registration to access the platform. Furthermore, the portal exists as a self-contained digital page on the EPBD website. The organization heavily prioritized user privacy and accessibility. Therefore, the site does not make external requests, set cookies, or store any information in the browser. As a result, the platform works perfectly even on slow internet connections or shared computers.

Ultimately, this initiative will save researchers, policymakers, journalists, academics, and other users countless hours. They no longer need to manually reconcile data from multiple official documents. Finally, EPBD has openly invited professionals and the general public to use the resource. The organization actively encourages users to report any errors, inconsistencies, or suggestions for further improvement.
