KARACHI: Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) issued circular warning customs agents involved in illegal activities.
According to circular, it is to inform that EPZA Board of Directors (BoD) in its 123rd meeting held on August 29, 2019 that clearing and forwarding agents, registered on EPZA Panel, having a valid customs clearing and forwarding license, are involved in illegal activity during the clearance of good/movement of containers at the time of bringing in/taken out from the zone.
The notification further stated that strict action will be taken against illegal activities by the clearing and forwarding agents if found any illegal activity, registration will be cancelled, security deposit will be forfeited and their case will be forwarded to Customs Intelligence for further necessary action.
