E&T recovers Rs 6.15m from property tax defaulters

RAWALPINDI: The Excise and Taxation Department has launched a crackdown against property tax defaulters and recovered Rs 6.15 million from them, after selling at least 261 domestic and commercial buildings, including a bank’s branch.

The operation against the defaulters was conducted in Satellite Town areas of Block A, B, C, E and F, Dhok Kashmirian, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and Muslim Town. At least, 140 shops, along with a branch of National Bank of Pakistan on Sixth Road, and 120 domestic buildings were sealed over the non-payment of tax.
