New Delhi: An Ethiopian woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold worth Rs 89 lakh at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.
“On detailed examination of her baggage and personal search, five gold bars and gold jewellery total weighing 3.1 kg having market value of Rs 89 lakh were recovered from her hand bag, which was found concealed in a small pouch,” a press release issued today by the customs said. The woman has been arrested and the recovered gold seized, it said.
