Etsy user creates map of Westeros in style of Google Maps for ‘Game Of Thrones’

LONDON: An Etsy user by the name of MongoLife has created a map of Westeros in the style of Google Maps. Now this is just a poster, so you can’t poke around the map, zoom in or out or get into Street View mode to see all of the action going down on land. However, the map is still beautifully detailed, showing towns, castles, strongholds, mountains and forests of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, from the Land of Always Winter to Dorne.

So much happens from week to week on Game of Thrones, you certainly need a map of the plot to keep it all straight.

Luckily, the opening credits sequence of the show does just that. If you’ve seen the show, you know that each week before a new episode begins, an animated map of the fictional kingdom of Westeros opens the show, changing with each new episode to give us a quick recap of where all of the power and allegiance stand before the new episode begins.

Though this animated map looks cool, if Westeros existed in real life and you wanted to actually find your way around the place, it probably wouldn’t do you much good. We need something we can easily pull up on our smartphones, obviously. Because Westeros and smartphones would of course exist together.

Well, someone knows what’s up. If only Arya Stark had such a guide during her epic travels, maybe things would go more smoothly for her. Nah, probably not.
