TOKYO: Alien Isolation is being offered with a 50 percent discount (60 percent with Xbox Live Gold memberships) but the significantly reduced price will only be available until Monday according to Eurogamer. It seems this is the time of year for both Sony, and Microsoft are offering big time titles for big time discounts. While Alien Isolation is going cheap on the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, games like Shadow of Mordor and Destiny are getting 40 and 50 percent discounts on Sony platforms during the company’s “Critic’s Choice” sale.
In addition to Alien Isolation, Microsoft game fans can also get titles like Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and Watch Dogs at the same 50 to 60 percent off. Alien Isolation was one of the original games being offered during this weekend sale, but Microsoft has also added Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Killer Instinct‘s Complete Bundle. Both of those collections are going for 33 percent off over the weekend.
For those of you not familiar with the tale of Alien Isolation, you play as Amanda Ripley the daughter of the main character from the Alien movie series. The elder Ripley has gone missing and Amanda is determined to find her mother. In her search, Amanda boards a space station in its final days. At first, you feel you are completely alone and then wish you were as you encounter ever increasing dangers culminating with a game of cat and mouse with a deadly Xenomorph.
Alien Isolation has been touted as one of the best horror titles to be released in the last few years. If there has been one complaint about the title it’s that it might not be long enough for its price tag. With Alien Isolation getting the deep discount this weekend, that complaint seems no longer valid.
