Eurozone household saving rate stable at 12.7% in Q4 2015

BRUSSELS: The household saving rate in the eurozone was 12.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, compared with 12.5 percent in the previous quarter, figures indicated on Monday.

Meanwhile, the household investment rate in the eurozone was 8.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015, compared with 8.3 percent in the third quarter of 2015.

Compared with data released on Jan. 28, 2016, the household saving rate for the third quarter of 2015 has been revised from 12.8 percent to 12.5 percent. The household investment rate for the third quarter of 2015 remained unchanged at 8.3 percent.

The figures are derived from the first release of quarterly European sector accounts by the statistical office of the European Union, Eurostat, and the European Central Bank.
