WASHINGTON: The unemployment rate in the eurozone has stuck at 9.1 per cent for August, slightly disappointing the Reuters consensus forecast for a further small decline but still at the lowest point since February 2009.
The rate is down from 9.9 per cent a year beforehand, Eurostat said. The lowest EU rate was observed in the Czech Republic, at 2.9 per cent, while the highest was in Greece, at 21.2 per cent. Youth unemployment in Greece is still running at 43.3 per cent.
