The volume of trade between Iran and some of the EU countries has risen unprecedentedly in the mentioned period, so that exports to Greece, France and Spain witnessed 108, 60 and 9 times increase, respectively.

The growth of European Union’s imports from the Islamic Republic in 2016 is largely due to the resumption of Iran’s oil exports to the Union.

The trade between Iran and the European Union stood at €1.998 billion in the first three months of 2016 which showed a 22 percent growth compared to €1.634 billion in the same period in 2015.

Meanwhile, EU’s imports from the Islamic Republic increased 52 percent and stood at €396 million, while the amount was €260 million in the same months in 2015.
