Excise and Taxation Multan achieves revenue target set for FY-2014-15

MULTAN: Excise and Taxation Multan have successfully collected more than 100% tax collection from the assigned target in the Multan district during the fiscal year 2014-15.

Excise and Taxation Multan Division was assigned the target of Rs 1.13 billion during previous fiscal year 2014-15. At the end of fiscal year 2014-15 Excise and Taxation Department Multan have been managed to recover tax amounting to Rs.1.19 billion during economic year 2014-15.

During the fiscal year 2014-15, property branch of Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division was assigned with the collection target of Rs 41.87million from the Multan region but the department has collected excess amount than the target with Rs 47.77 million. The department of Motor Branch has been able to collect 114% target in the fiscal year 2014-15.

Excise and Taxation Department Motor Branch Multan Division has collected  tax recovery of Rs 622.157 million in the whole fiscal year 2014-15.Motor branch of Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division was assigned the tax collection target of Rs 605.877 million for the previous fiscal year 2014-15. Excise and Taxation Department Motor branch has achieved the tax collection target in the fiscal year 2014-15 due to strict measures taken against the token tax defaulters and owners of un-registered vehicles in the Multan City.

Almost Rs 72.752 million amount of Excise tax revenue against the allotted target of Rs 62.157 million have been generated by the Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division due to un-interrupted efforts from the department in Multan region during the fiscal year 2014-15.The Excise and Taxation Department Multan have collected the surplus excise taxes of 117% throughout the fiscal year 2014-15.

Nearly Rs 4.353 million target of entertainment taxes from the various cinemas, theaters have been generated in the fiscal year 2014-15.While the target set for the monetary year 2014-15 for the collection of Entertainment tax was assigned almost Rs 3.362 million in the fiscal year 2014-15.There is almost 129% additional collection of entertainment taxes in the monetary year 2014-15.

Professional taxes of almost Rs 35.695 million have generated by the Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division against the target of Rs 38.811 million in the fiscal year 2014-15. Excise and Taxation Department Multan just misses the fiscal target of profession tax marginally otherwise department have successfully achieved the targets due to strict action plan was applied on the defaulters for the recovery of outstanding taxes. Excise and Taxation Department have successfully achieved the target of almost 92 % in the business year 2014-15.

Exactly the Rs 8.265 million of luxury taxes have been collected  from the owners of luxury houses in Multan City during the fiscal year 2014-15 .Luxury taxes were withdrawn from the owners of the big houses after the ruling of Court but the outstanding taxes which were not collected from the tax payers are also collected. Set target of luxury tax was almost Rs 2.789 million for the fiscal year 2014-15.

 

Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division has collected Rs 22.5 million in the fiscal year 2014-15 against the set target of Rs 20.724 million. The collected cotton tax was almost 8% excess from the collected taxes in the fiscal year 2014-15.

Director Excise and Taxation Department Multan Division Jaam Siraj Ahmad always managed well his staff for the achievement of uphill task in the fiscal year 2014-15.
