Excise completes computerization of tax record in five districts of Punjab

LAHORE: Excise and Taxation Department Punjab has completed computerization of tax record in five districts of Punjab including Lahore.

Punjab Excise started a project of computerization of tax record with the help of Punjab government and World Bank to avoid corruption. Manual and register system were hurdles in making the department corruption free. Due to increase in corruption government decided to computerize the Tax records of excise specially property tax record.

Director General Excise and Taxation Punjab briefed Secretary Excise Punjab Ali Tahir during Directors conference in Lahore that Computerization of Tax record has been completed in five districts of Punjab including Lahore. Computerization of property tax record has also been completed in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad. Secretary Excise directed to the concerned officers to make sure the computerization of property tax record in all districts of Punjab as soon as possible.

Director General Excise and Taxation Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Additional Director Masood ul Haq, Additional Secretary Excise Imran Aslam, Director Motor Branch Lahore Suhail Arshad, Rizwan Sherwani and all other Directors of Punjab were also present in the conference.
