Excise completes property tax survey in five districts

KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has completed its survey in five districts regarding property tax.

Talking to Customs Today ,  incharge Safdar Waraich said that the survey conducted in five areas of Karachi were district east, west district, central , Maleer district and south district. A survey was started earlier in district south but found the district west most defaulter area in terms of nonpayment of property tax. It revealed that many factories have not been paying a single penny for the last many years.

The department has sent notices to 38 different factories in west district, while around 182 owners of Plots and residences were also fined. In district south, 88 notices were issued and around 133 defaulters were fined. In central district notices were issued to around 23 schools, while over 288 persons were fined on the spot.

The department has given notices to defaulters to submit their dues till September 30.
