Excise Depart Multan starts crackdown against defaulters today

MULTAN: Excise and Taxation Department Multan has decided to begin the crackdown against the unregistered property dealers in the city.

Excise and Taxation Department has formed special teams on the direction of Director Excise and Taxation for taking stern action against the property dealers. Excise and Taxation has decided to implement action on the national action plan in which it was decided that all the property dealers must register themselves to carry on their real estate business.

E & T had conducted seminars and awareness campaign with the cooperation of District Cooperation and Police Department for the registration of property businesses in the city.

In last few days department has collected records of defaulters and gave some time on request of the property dealers, for the registration, running their businesses in the Multan city.

E & T said that under the national action plan defaulters will also be arrested. According to statistics of E & T Department Multan, only 233 property dealers have registered their real estate businesses, which is only 40 percent of the total in the city.

It further told that different commercial plaza and owners of shops were also dealing with property businesses and they were also required to register themselves with Excise Department.

There were total 756 property dealer offices exist in Multan and only 233 had registered with the Excise and Taxation Department Multan.

Sources told that Excise will start sealing the offices of defaulters from Thursday (today).

The annual registration fee for property dealer was Rs 10,000 and Rs 10,000 will be charged as security fee for the issuance of registration with the Department.
