3691 vehicles checked, 385 challaned, 158 impounded in Gujranwala division: Excise Regional Director

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation department has challaned as many as 385 vehicles besides impounding 158 different vehicles in six districts of Gujranwala division named as Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala.

According to the Regional Director E&T Gujranwala Rao Shakilur Rehman, the E&T teams set up special pickets at all the main entry and exit points in the region and the teams checked total 3691 vehicles, challaned 385 vehicles and impounded 158 vehicles.
E&T teams challaned 48 vehicles and impounded 60 vehicles in Sialkot district, challaned 234 vehicles and impounded 32 vehicles in Gujranwala district, challaned 47 vehicles and impounded 4 vehicles in Gujrat district, challaned 9 vehicles and impounded 25 vehicles in Hafizabad district, challaned 36 vehicles and impounded 29 vehicles in Mandi Bahaud Din district and challaned 11 vehicles and impounded 8 different vehicles in Narowal district.
Rao further stated that the impounded vehicles had been the defaulters of Rs.1.5 million.
