Excise Dept decides action against property tax defaulters

KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has decided to take action against property tax defaulters. Arrangements have been made in this regard and it is likely that the department will start action from 17 November.

An official of the Excise and Taxation Department said the high-ups were also pondering to start a fresh survey of property in Sindh to collect tax in a better way. The last property tax survey in Sindh was conducted in 2002. Sources said the department collected Rs 4 billion under the head of property tax in fiscal year 2013-14.
