Excise Dept issues notices to 3,000 owners of car, bike showrooms

SIALKOT: The Excise and taxation Department has issued the notices to as many as 3000 owners of the car and motorcycles show rooms and property dealing office   for their registration with E&T Department in Gujranwala Division’s all the Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts.

The Punjab government has announced to bring them under the tax net, advising them to ensure the professional tax payment after getting them registered with the Excise and Taxation Department.

According to the Director Excise and Taxation Gujranwala Division Ashiq Hussain Shah, the Punjab government has decided to register all the car show rooms and property dealing offices across the Punjab and the E&T department has issued the notices to 3000 owners of the car and motorcycles show rooms and property dealing offices asking them to get them registered with the E&T Department.

He said that provincial government has affixed non refundable security fee of Rs. 50,000 each for their registration and Rs10,000 as professional tax each per annum in urban areas and Rs 5000  as professional tax in the rural areas.

The special tasks of registration and recovery have been given to the senior E&T officials, which have completed the special survey and issued the notice, in this regard.
