Excise Dept officials to get motorcycles on installments

LAHORE: The Excise Department has decided to give 250 motorcycles to its officials on monthly installments. The installments will be deducted from the salaries of the officials.

According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved summary to buy 250 Honda CD 70 motorcycles for excise constables. The CM has sent the summary to the treasury office to release funds in this regard.

According to excise officials, the motorcycles would be issued on monthly installments which will be deducted from the salaries of the officials. The department has started a campaign to curb drug smuggling in the province and this facility will increase the performance of the staff.

The Excise and Taxation Department is working on a project to establish excise police stations in Punjab. Excise Director General Ahmad Aziz has formed four special committees to work on this project and submit a feasibility report. These police stations will be setup across the province to monitor activities of drug smugglers. The proposed police stations will also be responsible to investigate.
