LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab has foiled an attempt to register non-customs paid vehicle in Lahore Motor Branch.
Sources told Customs Today that excise staff of Motor Branch at Fareed Kot House found bogus documents of a vehicle. During verification process it was confirmed by the Excise officials so they stop proceeding of its registration and confiscated the vehicle as well. Documents that were presented in the Excise Motor Branch were found bogus and vehicle was illegally imported or smuggled from some other country sources confirmed to Customs Today.
Excise Inspector Malik Khalid seized the vehicle and arrested its owner Muhammad Zulifqar as well from the spot. Excise Department will contact Customs Investigation for further action regarding this scandal of registration of vehicle on bogus documents.
