Excise found fake registration of 701 vehicles during scrutiny of record‏

MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation Department has found 701 vehicles forged having registration during scrutiny of the record.

Sources told Customs Today that Excise and Taxation Department conducted the audit of registered vehicles to find out fake registrations. The audit teams found registration of 701 vehicles of MNA serial forged during the scrutiny of the record of more than 3,000 vehicles.

These fake registered vehicle belong to Multan, Lahore, Okara and other areas of Punjab. The department has has handed over the case to Anti-Corruption Establishment for further investigation.

Excise and Taxation department has started crackdown of these forged MNA registration serial. Secretary Excise have suspended fourteen employees of the Multan Excise and Taxation department  including their director and officials by  initiating investigations against them by referring their cases to anti–corruption establishment.

Anti-Corruption Establishment is carrying out investigation and arrested four employees and others have taken protective bail from the court.
