Excise impounds 59 vehicles, seals 73 properties in Sialkot

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has impounded 59 vehicles, and sealed 73 properties and shops due to non payment of token, properties and professional taxes.

Excise and Taxation Officer Muzaffar Qayyum told Customs Today that the excise team checked various vehicles which were plying on roads and impounded 59 vehicles during a crackdown.

He said that the excise team also sealed 73 properties and shops whose owners failed to clear outstanding tax amounts. He said that excise teams are working with full devotion to collect outstanding tax dues. He said recovery process from defaulters will continue till June 30, 2016. Muzaffar Qayyum said that excise department is optimistic to achieve revenue target set for fiscal year 2015-16.
