Excise impounds 66 vehicles, seals 257 properties due to tax evasion

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has started crackdown against defaulters of various taxes.

Excise and Taxation Officer Muzaffar Qayyum told Customs Today that during the on-going drive against defaulters, Sialkot excise sealed 257 properties and impounded 66 vehicles.

He said that Director General Punjab Excise and Taxation Dr Asharf Akram Gondal formed various teams which are taking strict action against tax defaulters.  He said that department will not spare anyone who found involved in tax evasion.

He said that the department has enhanced checking in the area to detect vehicles which are plying on roads without payment of token tax. He said that all sealed properties and vehicles will be returned to their owners after payment of tax dues.
